Whoa homes! Don't be hatin on Gabby's! I never really met a bar I didn't like. They always got one good thing I like about 'em. Alcohol. It's hard to pass the bar. Ask your lawyer. Guess I kind of hate the onion cause it's all frat boyed out. On the other hand, the ladies are nice. Fuck it.

ok heres the places ive been,
-blue nile{was nice, real clean, staff was friendly, great sound system, kool dj's}
-Red Sea{smaller bar area but has good sized dance floor, but has a great sound system, security, bartender, owners are all real kool, Dj's are also very kool}
-Saba's {huge bar, dart boards, pool tables, alot of stuff to do there, very kool Dj's they never bullshit dj glenn and 1220 you can catch there advertisement on beat 96.3, good sound sytem}
-Soul City {Tiny bar, decent sized dance floor, Dj Fu man chu is kool, but the dude who does the open mic list masta I discriminates on what he likes or doesnt like, so if he isnt feeling you he will cross you off, there for it isnt an open mic, its a half open mic due to his discretion, often gets very hot in there, ive been there several times where I kept thinking damn they need to turn on the AC!

I'd at least have a lil more respect for masta I if he woulda spoke his mind and told me he doesnt like my muzik and is going to cross me off and i wont be going on at soul city anymore, rather than be 2 faced and tell me to hold up he still has me lined up to go on... i dont need someone pulling my third leg. sounds like 5th element has some shady charectors who are selective due 2 there own taste as well? i havent been to there open mic, but i will now avoid it thanks PSE! i could see if we were making racist comments or something, lol@those close minded fools

Bottom line...Why let some kid stand up on stage for 3minutes who obviously isn't ready? Stay the fuck in the bedroom til your ready to rap infront of your family. Then once you can do it for your family, then try to hit the stage. Or so wisemen say...The 5th is the dope spot renob i dunno what your talking about. And to clarify Ali was cutting sucky kids off the mic. The best move I've ever seen in an open mic. If older heads such as Mazta I and Ali didn't crack the whip there be more crunk music around.

In all honesty, McBain thinks that 1st Avenue sucks. The drinks aren't good and da beer is expensive, although I can afford it wit my payroll! Outside of dat, you have to stand in 4-6 inches of piss when you are in the bathroom. Security is full of assholes, but I've whooped on does girly boys.
The only thing 1st Ave has going for it is the music, which has sucked greatly lately. Speaking of things that suck, I'd let the USA girls gymnastics team suck my oversized penis off any day!

Whoa, slow your role.
Fifth Element had a welcoming Open Mic and we had talents of all sorts grace our stage.
The only time I ever saw Brother Ali stop someone's performance was only to reassert that since we are a Hip Hop record store, we were trying to keep our Open Mic focused around Hip Hop.
Watch the slanderous remarks.
On a side note, Fifth Element's Open Mic Night is on hiatus right now, anyway.

Drink(if its early in the night its not terrible but its a C- regaurdless)
Brothers
Red Dragon(I used ta live a block away. yo dont go there to drink! its about the Butterfly chicken)( go to rudalphs happy hour accross the street voted best happy hour in the cities like 3 times)
I cant think of the name but that irish pub accross from first ave. service is terrible from there authentic leprekahns.

A couple bars I do like are The Imperial Room(bring a date.watch the game) The Kitty Kat Klub (bring a date conversate) The Baja Riverside ( my homebase bring a date conversate watch the game blaze swill see a dope show happy hours 1 dollar bomb ass tacos good food no idiots best balcony in the cities. run by some down ass mexicans not your average all american snobby ass dick lickers lie escape and daddy rocks n shit)

i had one bad case of terrible service at the red dragon. took me 45 minutes to get a drink at the bar as the bar tender made 20 some fruity ass drinks for this one table. she litterally had the whole bar counter lined up with drinks. plus she took long cigarrette breaks inbetween mixin every five drinks or so.
i do like that place though.
sunra was right on about 1st ave and all ages shows and drinking and not being able to actually watch a show.

i almost got kicked out of the place once..
my friends and i got seated at a table waiting for some more friends..and our waitress was taking forever!!! so my friend went to the bar to get our drinks and when the waitress came back she was like, "i am not going to serve you the rest of the night." and we asked her why...and it was because we didn't wait for her to come to our table...so when we were done with her drinks and we had like five more people join us she still refused to serve us..we were pissed and she asked the bouncer to kick us out...he didn't want to do that so we had to switch tables with another group of people so we wouldn't be in her section anymore..what a drama queen..
and that place wouldn't let me in last time with a ten day expired ID..they have seen me in there a million times..fuk that place.

Used to get boozed up at the Dinkytowner when Billy and Eric were slinging sauce. Gave me shelter during the Dinkytown "Riots". The new owner is making it kinda shitty...
The Triple Rock used to have the stiffest, cheapest booze, but now that they have the music venue, mixed drinks went up, and aren't as strong. Juke rules.
Got tossed out of Rudolph's for passing out at the bar... those gin tonics were stiff, but throwing me out?
Other places that suck: Rosens (asshole clientele), Drink (same), the Quest (shitty all around), First Ave (beer is too expensive), Mannings (no hard liquor), the Lodge (more assholes), all the "irish" pubs except the Dubliner, Gaby's, American Sports Bar, and any other place that got in the way of my alcohol consumption.
I don't really drink anymore though. I wasn't getting much else done. Not that I'm doing anything now, but at least my head doesn't hurt so much.
CC Club just because they removed my disc out the Junkybox.

JUST TO LET PEOPLE KNOW...
Tonic is suppose to be a restaurant, and they make most of their sales in booz SO... The cities are pissed becasue they are suppose to make like 60% of income on food, and they dont,
so basically they nearly give away drinks if you buy a bunch of food, ask your server about drink deals.
CHECK THEM OUT!!!!!!!!!

Worst bars are usually the ones that label themselves as a "dance club"
(Tropix, Stargate etc etc etc...)
Charge a cover and then stiff you on booze prices? What is this a Strip Club?
Other shitty bars include: Hard Rock (High price yuppie shit), Brit's Pub, Lone Tree, Drink, The Refuse I mean Refuge, Rosens...
I do however dig the following establishments:
Stand Up Franks, Matt's, any local VFW (Best drink prices anywhere, plus crazy ass war stories), Sally's (quarter tap Thursday), Tom Reid's (while watching hockey), Psycho Suzi's is alright, but I gotta go more to form more of an opinion....

The only places I'll go to hang out now are dives. Really dive dives. The places where the hardened alcoholics go to get some REAL drinking done. Places where if you walk in and nobody's there, it STILL reeks of cigarette smoke.
Matt's, Sportsman's, Cy's, the Knight Cap, the Yacht Club, the Gold Coin.
Pabst, Old Style and Hamm's are marks of the last great true drinking institutions. Leave the bar immediately if these are not on tap. Any bar "too good" for those beers will most likely suck.
Ass.
With a straw.
Support your neighborhood dive and stumble home.

Just curious. Why? I enjoyed the karaoke/ladies night. The rest of the time I just liked to be able to go in and chill with the minimal amount of folks that usually chilled there. They also had big buffalo wings with the best honey mustard sauce I've ever had. BW3's is sadly lacking in the honey mustard dept. But yeah. Why.
