Who here would be up for playing kickball this spring/summer?

The reason I ask is my freind and I were thinking of things that we did when we were little that were fun. Kickball was my favorite game to play in gym class and I want to play again. It wouldn't be like every week just a couple times this summer just for fun.

I just wanted to see if anyone else would be up for this. I know it's far away but I am really excited.

can you pitch? Im serious now, no bullshit! Can you pitch?, cuz I have had numerous people in the past come at me like "i can pitch" and they end up walking the whole fucking lineup...
We have a pitcher, but his arm is giving him troubles and I would like to rest the man once in awhile...

can you throw spin/trick/junk pitches?

I can do spin pitches,natural curves,etc....I'm not a big technical pitcher.I just put the ball in the strike zone in the most awkward spot for them to hit it.That way you can't do no sacrifice bullshit!!! You know man,play the batter like a fool....

baseball and softball are totally different.
Cuz most of our team were baseball allstars in high school but softball is completely different!
Ask Captain or Blaze who post on this board they are on the team and know the deal.
And whens the last time yall picked up a bat? Im just saying im not hating or nothing...i just need to see something ya know...

Baseball is alot harder than softball the ball is smaller and faster and I played a couple times last year so I am not that rusty.

ya i played baseball and know all about it...
personally i think its easier to hit baseballs farther than softballs. baseballs are coming with more speed and more compact so its easy to get a hold of one... but then again softball bats are made to the point today where you bunt the ball and hit that shit 320ft...but its different. Playing outfield in softball is a challenge, cuz the ball is always in a weird spin and also moves with the wind, so at one point it could be coming right at you then all the sudden jump to the left and right by you...also hitting is different. Some good pichers be putting crazy backspin or junk on there pitches and you can have solid contact and kill the shitout of the ball and the spin will just make you pop that shit up...its werid man...its like a whole new hitting science for softball...

i suggest investing in a real good bat too...

I'm a bit rusty ,but nothing Grand Slam can't take care of......I grew up on this shit....Especially if it's C or D leagues.I'm used to practicing with the B guys.Which is no different they just take it super serious.....Competition gets none!!!

I live in Spring Lake Park, and their park and rec department is putting together an adult co-rec kickball league this summer...Im joining that shit, and Im down to play some softball and football....

Kick ball was dope as hell back in the day...2 easy at times tho..cuz all u had 2 do was kick the shit outta the ball and u were set..lol.

But ya...my cuz was right about softball and baseball being completely different. Cuz they r. When ur up at the plate in baseball...u dont have 2 sit in the batters box and b severly patient...not just patient with baseball....but severly in softball....cuz if u get 2 over anxious...u will foul the ball down the left field line badly..or just pop it up...droppin ur shoulder and pullin ur head when u swing. Cuz u really have 2 watch the pitchers ....cuz so many of them will throw u shit..just junk....plus put spin on it...ark it high as fuck...and u have 2 sit there..and time it just right. Cuz like with baseball...its easier 2 jack homeruns...becuz u have more speed on the ball commin in on it 1nce it reachs the bat...therefore 1nce u hit it...it will go further then a softball. And also the ball weights less then a softball...not 2 mention u have the same amount of pop in aluminum bats as u do in softball. So just cuz u can jack a baseball...doesnt mean u can with softball. Cuz softballs u have 2 hit it in the right spot..like hype said...u go 2 low on it..and the ball will pop up....u go 2 high on it the ball will shoot down in the dirt infront of u. Also u need more bat speed in ur swing in softball 2...thats what makes the ball go far basically...that and the snapping of ur wrists and then rolling them 1nce u connect with the ball..just at the right time in ur swing. U just really have 2 have more bat speed in softball then with baseball. But ya anywayz....if u guys play u will see. Softball just aint the same as baseball...just different!!

Blaze and Hype, I have to disagree wit u on Softball baseball...Hitting is 100 times harder in baseball, smaller ball, faster curves, the mound is elevated which gives the pitcher a huge advantage. All the technical thigns u mentioned (blaze) bout softball apply in baseball, except u dont pop up, u just plain miss the ball. I played baseball at a higher level than most people and agianst some damn good competition and I can tell u one thing, baseball hitting is way tougher than softball. yeah if u connect with a fastball it will go farther, but that is so much harder to do cuz the reaction time is so much faster u cant even compare it. Plus u gotta worry about location and type of pitch and all within less than a second. U have to be patient otherwise u will strike out or not hit well. U SHOULD be patient in softball, but its not required cuz u can make adjustments on your swing while u r waiting on ur pitch, which u cant do in baseball due to the speed of the pitch. Its so much more guess work in baseball, I can't seriously belive that u think hitting a baseball far is easier!

As far as kickball hell yeah im down! In 5th grade i kicked a ball so hard I blew it open...Sheridan elementary ne MPLS kickball what u know bout that?? kickin homeruns on the school roof...nobody can hold me down in kickball!! LOL

The kickball game will also involve bbq/picnic, and hopefully beer. I don't know the rules for alcohol in city parks so I can't say if there will be beer or not. If anyone does know park rules for Minneapolis please let me know.

I aint talkin about College Ball or like Major League hitting...i am talkin about pick up games hitting a baseball rather then a softball. Look at JD when he hits a baseball compaired 2 a softball. He can beat the piss outta a baseball and hit it over the fence. But with a softball he cant even hit the fence with it sometimes. Thats what i am saying...hitting like 34-45 mph baseball pitchs compaired 2 softball pitchs. Of coarse hitting a baseball at a high level is harder then softball!! But why cant ppl that beat the piss outta baseballs normally do the same with softballs?? Softball aint easy...even if it does look like that just watching it. Cuz even when i played in a "C" league in Bloomington with my bro in law in '99. The pitching was way harder..more ark on the ball and more spin... then the league we r in now. And i know it gets harder and harder as u move up in the classes...just like with baseball levels. All i am saying is hitting a softball...and then hitting a baseball like during pick up games...is way different..and its easier 2 hit baseballs outta the field then softballs....just look at JD and others!
