Timberwolves: Brandon could draw trade interest

News
According to the St. Paul Pioneer Press, several NBA teams are showing interest in Terrell Brandon, although any deal must come with an assurance that the injured point guard will retire. If Brandon retires and is deemed physically unable to perform by an independent NBA doctor, his team could apply for and receive full salary-cap relief in February 2004. "If you're a [luxury] taxpayer, it could be significant savings, especially if you're a taxpayer paying $11 million over," explained Rob Babcock, the Timberwolves' vice president of player personnel. "If you've got him, and that takes you below the tax bracket, you're saving $11 million-plus in taxes, plus you're saving the 80 percent in salary [which insurance is currently paying]. So next year, it could have an $18 million significance to your overall costs, and that's a lot of money."
Brandon's big salary could bring the Wolves a quality player, and the article speculated at Miami's Brian Grant and Eddie Jones or Atlanta's Theo Ratliff.
yo I'd love to get Eddie Jones to the Wolves, I like his D and he has a nice outside shot, athletic...but what is his contract like? I mean is he gonna be a free agent soon, and isnt he like 31 yrs old? not that hes old, but maybe try to get a younger player to complement KG and Wally? And oh yeah if we were to get Jones, what does that mean for wally? I still want Jalen Rose on the wolves, I think he would do great here...
