Yeah we should network in the future so people dont have to be torn between 2 shows they would like to attend!! Or we would love to be hosting shows like this at Foundation..

I'd say Foundation is much better staffed to handle the Scion parties. Varsity is ok, but they really don't have the staff to handle a full house...

I don't think the crowd that was at the Redman show would have fit in the Foundation. people were turned away from the Varsity that night.

The difference is one big room to a few different areas in Foundation. Both would be hard to hold enough for Redman or Ghostface, but Foundation has a lot more staff...

The Redman show was full but definitly not sold out Varsity sized crowd. I had called earlier in the week to see what capacity was. When they started turing people away, I asked the door girl what the number at the door was; she told me a number that was off by at least 150-200 people from what I was told.
Foundation could hold the crowd excluding the Deep Lounge. Check the numbers before you make a statement like that.

graemlins/peace.gif </font>
oh? here we go again?
First I will make whatever statement I wish. Then I will back it up with real facts. So ease back.
Anyone can call up, or ask anyone one about numbers and get whatever type answer. It doesn't mean its actual.
I know THE ACTUAL numbers of people who signed up, and THE ACTUAL numbers of people who came through the door because I have THE ACTUAL lists in both cases for all the shows.
No mater what was said by whoever, whenever and for whatever reason. Both the Redman and Ghostface show had signups that would exceed both the Varsity and Foundation combined if everyone showed up who signed up. In both cases the capacity of the Varsity was reached and people were turned away who were rsvpd.<--fact. Could you stuff a couple more people in the place? Of course you could, safely even. But the cap was reached, the doors were shut and people walked. No question.
I can guarantee you, depending on when you call, who you talk to, any venue may give you a different number for the cap for lots of different reason. Anything from the fire marshals are fucking with them to they changed the setup or the fool that answered the phone didn't know shit about shit, whatever.
All that aside, do you want to watch the Ghostface show from the Deep Lounge? I think not.
Which main room is bigger? Which provides better seating, standing and viewing room? Which stage is bigger and more accommodating to the larger bands we are bringing? Which stage is higher off the floor? Which has more headroom? Which soundboard is going to better handle a five or six piece band, three rappers, and a DJ? Which better accommodates the merch and givaways?
catch feelings then ho
But yes, the Foundation is far more Hip-Hop friendly. In fact I believe when all is said and done the Foundation could go down in Twin Cities history as the Best Hip-Hop venue there has been. Certainly there is a special love for Hip-Hop there, rarely seen anyplace else in the Cities if ever. Definitely a welcome asset to Hip-Hop general. I am personally thankful for the Foundation even existing, as we should all be.
right, so whats the issue here?
Anytime a Hip-Hop show is thrown at some other venue, should it have been thrown at the Foundation instead? Just because the crowd could fit in the Foundation? Why arnt people 'informing' all these other shows about the capacity at the Foundation?
"you know, you could have done that show at the Foundation instead of [insert venue here]"
Now copy and past that to all these events on the events page.
leave me alone

But yes, you are right. I take it back and shouldn't let the history of these arguments show up now.
I'm still good with the "Wu-Tang BITCH!" tho right?

Wu-Tang bitch!!! </font>
Oh Jason, I didn't mean to upset you are make you feel like I was trying to instagate anything. What happened in the past is in the past we move on and learn. Plus I recall it was more of your bitchin and none of mine...Tell Mark he's welcome for my email list, it's a good thing I helped out because Redman probably wouldn't have sold out.
As far as who I spoke with at the Varsity it was the Manager yo. Numbers are numbers but they said it also depends on when the promoter wants to cut the door off.

What?
Huh?
I can't hear you...

Ha, me bitching? All I was doing was telling people about the shows, what was I bitching about? you came with the negativity at every single turn, even now you want to argue with me.
Your email list was not the only one that was used, thought you would quiet down.
Numbers are numbers, so? Oh, I see it, so now it DOES sell out and you want credit for it, I get it.
I never said the shows would never return.
How about you stay out of my threads? Quit trying to come contradict me. Leave me alone. All problems solved.
Feelings? whatever.
